A COMMUNITY BASED STUDY TO ASSESS THE EFFECTIVENESS OF VIDEO ASSISTED TEACHING MODULE (VATM) ON KNOWLEDGE REGARDING PROMOTION OF PLANNED PARENTHOOD AND FAMILYSUPPORT AMONG PREGNANT MOTHERSIN SELECTED VILLAGES KANPUR UP.
Pregnancy is wonderful and very bright news is most women’s lives on the same part the women will have emotional instability towards the physical changes in her and the process of child birth. The present study was conducted to assess effectiveness of Video Assisted Teaching Module (VATM) on knowledge regarding promotion of Planned Parenthood and family support among Pregnant Mothers. 60 sample were collected by using non probability convenient sampling technique through structured knowledge questionnaire the data collected and analysed based on descriptive and inferential statistics. The result of the study showed that the post-test mean score (17.78) was high when compared to the pre-test mean (13.75) score of knowledge. The obtained “t” value (11.34) was greater than table value &df 59 which was p < 0.05 level of significance, which shows that there is significant difference between pre-test and post-test level of knowledge hence the formulated research hypothesis H1 was accepted H01 was rejected. The test revealed that there was no significant association of knowledge with selected demographic variables such as Age in years, religion, monthly income, type of family, and previous knowledge of Planned Parenthood and source of information. Video Assisted Teaching Module (VATM) was effective in improving the knowledge of Pregnant Mothers regarding Promotion of Planned Parenthood and family support. The overall findings of the study clearly showed that there is a need of continuous video assisted teaching module to improve the knowledge. The present study proved that the video assisted teaching programme was significantly effective in improving the knowledge of pregnant mothers regarding promotion of Planned Parenthood and family support.
